Nest laser cut parts on sheets to save material
Upload an SVG and the parts are packed onto sheets of your size by their real shapes, turned where it helps, with engraving kept on its part.
Measure your real material thickness and kerf, and cut or print a small test before the whole job.
How to use it
- Upload an SVG with the parts drawn as closed cut lines.
- Enter your sheet size, the margin and the gap between parts.
- Download the nested file: one sheet under another, layers and colours kept.
Questions
What counts as a part?
A shape closed by cut lines (red or green layers in HingeLab files, every stroked layer otherwise), with its holes. Engraving and score lines inside it move with it.
Are curves kept?
Curves are written as fine straight segments (well under the laser's kerf), which every laser program reads.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Nesting runs in your browser; a big file can take a few seconds.
