Tips for the qr code generator

Scan the screen before you cut: hold a phone up to the canvas; if it reads there, the plate will read too.

  • Scan the screen before you cut: hold a phone up to the canvas; if it reads there, the plate will read too.
  • Contrast matters more than size: engrave dark and even, or use a black backplate under a light top plate.
  • Keep modules at least 0.6 mm for engraving and 1.2 mm for cut-outs; a shorter web address makes fewer, larger modules.
  • A centre logo needs error correction Q or H, and keep it under about a fifth of the code's width.
  • For a stencil, spray light coats straight down and lift it straight up; the thin lines left by the bridges do not stop phones reading the code.
