Share links and remixing

File › Share link… makes a link that carries every setting of the design. The settings are compressed inside the link itself (after the #), so nothing is uploaded and HingeLab never sees the design.

• Whoever opens the link sees the design read-only: they can look round it in 2D and 3D, but the panels are locked and nothing is saved over their own design.
• Remix makes it their design: the panels unlock and it autosaves as usual. Ctrl+Z returns to the design they had before.
• Back to my design leaves the shared design without changing anything.
• Pictures stay out of the link unless you tick Include my pictures; the link then gets much longer. Uploaded fonts never travel in a link: the link uses the default font. Send a project file to share those.
• Links over 8,000 characters are cut off by some chat and mail apps; the window warns you.
